Q: What type of funding is available for mobility products?

A: If you qualify, the Assistive Devices Program covers approximately 75%. Some of the local service clubs also provide help with funding


Q: How do I go about getting funding from the 'Assistive Devices Program'(ADP)?

A: Contact an Occupational Therapist at Community Care: 1-800-263-4956


Q: Do you offer payment plans?

A: No. but we do accept all major credit cards.


Q: Will my insurance plan cover this?

A: Depending on the plan you are enrolled in, many insurance plans cover equipment and devices. We can bill many plans -- Green Shield, Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) and Workers Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) will accept billing directly from us. Others require that you submit for payment, yourself.


Q: What type of warranty is available for the mobility product?

A: One year, in most cases.


Q: Do you have on-site service available?

A: Yes, and we carry an extensive inventory of parts.


Q: Do you make house calls?

b Yes, all across Niagara. We also provide free estimates.


Q: Do you have on-call service available?

A: Yes; the technicians are available by cell phone and pager in case of an emergency.


Q: When I purchase my blood glucose monitor, how will I learn how to use it?

A: You will not leave the store with a blood glucose monitor, without a complete knowledge of how to use it. This applies to all equipment and supplies we sell or rent.


Q: Do you carry products to improve safety in the bathroom?

A: Yes. We sell or rent bath seats, transfer benches, non-slip bath mats, and bath boards, to name a few. And, we install tub bars, safety strips and hand held showers. Safety At Home Program


Q: What is the proper way to charge my scooter battery?

A: It is best to charge your battery when the indicator tells you the battery is low. However, if you are planning to use it a lot before the next charge, it is a good idea to bring it up to full charge.


Q: Should I leave my battery on the charger all the time I am not using my scooter?

A: No. It is best to charge your battery only when it needs it. Frequent charging of the battery without total discharge may shorten the life of the battery.


Q: What maintenance precautions can I take for the coming winter?

A: Your scooter and batteries should be stored in a dry area where there is no chance of freezing. If you are not using it, charge and check you battery monthly.


Q: Is there a correct tire pressure for my wheelchair/scooter tires?

A: Yes. The manufacturer's recommended tire pressure is marked on each tire. Maintaining the correct tire pressure will prolong the life of the tire. It is recommended that the pressure is checked once a week, or whenever possible. However, having said that, it is also possible that comfort and terrain may dictate the desirable tire pressure for each individual.


Q: What steps must I take to obtain government funding?

Q: What type of equipment do you service?

A: Lewis & Krall Home Health Care services all the equipment we sell and rent. We employ professionals in the electrical, mechanical and installation fields. We do not service oxygen needs.


Q: Do you install grab bars?

A: Yes. We also have and install a lot of other safety equipment for daily living.
